Welcome to Down the Road Local Eatery & Deli, we’re all about celebrating the delicious flavours of food and beverage that is grown, raised and produced in Northland, New Zealand. From Mangawhai to Cape Reinga (Tai Tokerau) the pickings are rich so we let the seasons drive what we offer.

The Eatery menu is printed daily, not all dishes change everyday but it’s all about reflecting what is in season and what is really good right now. The menu is designed to be a flexible, all-day eating experience so you can choose how you want to enjoy it.

With attentive, unpretentious service we invite you to relax in a lovely historic venue, whether you’re just popping in for coffee or choose to stay longer and enjoy a meal and drinks.

The Deli is an extension of the local food offered in the Eatery. Ready to eat meals, fresh bread, local coffee, tea and soft drinks are available to takeaway. This is complimented by a great range of local, gourmet and artisan products, from delicious cheese, cured meats and seafood, to preserves, olive oil and sauces, there’s plenty to tempt passionate food lovers.

And to drink.

The Eatery is fully licenced and we’re proud to present a 100% Northland wine list as well as some of the regions’ best beer. Other drinks include local juices by the glass, healthful tonics like kombucha as well as Northland blended teas and award-winning Max Coffee. Our local range of soft drinks is complimented with New Zealand made organic juices.

Down the Road Local Eatery & Deli is open 7 days a week from 11am until 6pm.

We welcome casual diners at the Eatery any time, we’re also happy to take bookings if you prefer to secure a table. There is also the option of booking the Eatery to enjoy exclusively for your special occasions for groups between 20 and 40 people, from 6pm onward.
